Updated for iOS 26.4, iPadOS 26.4 - Turn Off Liquid Glass and Stop Summarizing Messages

Now updated based on iOS 26.4 and iPadOS 26.4!

Some of the changes that Apple has made on MacOS, iPadOS and iOS isn’t for me, so here’s how I turn them off.

Turn off (or better phrased “reduce”) “Liquid Glass” and reduce transparency:
Settings —> Display and Brightness —> Liquid Glass —> Tinted
You will then be prompted to “Turn off Reduce Transparency” (if this way set like the below on previous versions). But following this step you can turn it back on.

Now enable “Reduce Transparency” under:
Settings —> Accessibility —> Display & Text Size —> Reduce Transparency

Turn off Messages “Summarization”. The summaries, for me, are rarely helpful so I turned it off by going to:
Settings —> Apps (at the bottom of settings page) —> Messages —> Summarize Messages (turn off)
